The transition into parenthood is one of the most significant periods in a person’s life — yet many employees enter parental leave having received very little preparation for the realities of postpartum recovery and early parenthood.
This educational workshop offers organisations a thoughtful and practical way to support employees through pregnancy, parental leave, postpartum recovery, and the transition back to work.
Led by DONA International Certified Postpartum Doula and educator Amélie, the session combines evidence-informed guidance with compassionate, realistic preparation for life after birth.
Workshops are available online or in person for workplaces, organisations, parent networks, and community groups.
Supporting employees during the transition into parenthood is not simply a wellbeing initiative, it is an investment in long-term staff wellbeing, retention, confidence, and workplace culture.
This workshop helps organisations foster a more informed and compassionate approach to maternity and parental leave and early parenthood by offering employees practical guidance, emotional preparation, and realistic expectations around postpartum recovery and family life.
Benefits for organisations may include:
More supported and informed employees entering parental leave
Reduced overwhelm and improved parental wellbeing
A smoother and more sustainable transition back to work
Increased employee trust, retention, and workplace loyalty
A workplace culture that recognises postpartum wellbeing as an important part of family support
Sessions can be adapted to suit the needs of individual teams or organisations.
This 60–75 minute session explores the emotional, physical, and practical realities of the postpartum period in a calm, educational, and accessible way.
Participants are encouraged to reflect on what support, recovery, and wellbeing may realistically look like during the early weeks and months after birth.
The session includes space for questions and discussion throughout.
Topics explored include:
What the postpartum period truly involves: physically, emotionally, and socially
Why postpartum preparation matters as much as birth preparation
How to create a realistic postpartum plan
The role of rest, nourishment, and support in recovery
Emotional wellbeing and adjustment during early parenthood
Gentle preparation for the eventual transition back to work
The workshop is structured around five key areas of postpartum wellbeing and recovery:
Understanding what healing requires after birth and how to protect time and space for physical recovery.
Simple and realistic approaches to food, hydration, and nourishment during the postpartum period.
Exploring practical, emotional, and professional support systems — and learning how to ask for help before it is urgently needed.
Creating a calmer home environment that reduces mental load and supports daily functioning after birth.
Normalising the emotional realities of early parenthood and recognising when additional support may be needed.
Each participant receives:
A digital copy of the Postpartum Planning Handbook
Access to recommended local and online postpartum resources
The opportunity to ask questions during the workshop
Follow-up email access to Amélie for additional queries after the session
This helps extend learning and support beyond the workshop itself.
€450 — In-person workshop (up to 10 participants)
